The Secret Place- happy Women's day

I imagine myself in the secret place of my mother’s womb. Where You fearfully crafted my body and meticulously wove my entire being!! What undivided attention! What impeccable craft!! I don’t even think that my mother noticed YOUR presence!! The white spotless gown, the gentle hands surrounded by gloves of love, Your eyesight so perfect- You wouldn’t dare place a part on my body in error. You put EVERYTHING in place and wrote a life plan of how it would evolve. You were so FEARFUL God!! Yes YOU!!-The big mighty God were so fearful and extremely careful that You did NOT make a mistake on this wonderful work of art.

class="MsoNormal">I was in that secret place with you!! I smiled every time you progressed. When we played water games, my mum would feel the kicks of a new life!!It was just You and me, and I entirely depended on you for EVERYTHING!! You protected my mother from all harm and you made sure that when Your work was done, You were ready to show me off to the world!!

class="MsoNormal">You smiled as I left the secret place. Though I was in tears, You were confident that after spending so much time on “project me” I had it in me to face life.

But what has happened to me dear Lord? What has happened to the daughters of Eve? We have betrothed the world and all its intricacies!!We have allowed the world to define your wonderful work of art. We have sought fulfillment from men, cars, money, careers, and fashion labels. We derive all sense of purpose from words. Words from men who just want to get into our pants and defile the core of our existence. We thrive on attention from friends, family and society and forget that the vacuum we are trying so hard to fill can only be filled by you.We have forgotten what a wonderful creation we are and hence been bruised!

In our pursuit to measure up to our male counterparts, we have lost the essence of femininity in which we so naturally operate. To love, nurture life, support and nest our offspring.

Our hearts have gained strength from pain endured along the way but we are so bitter because we have not practised forgiveness!

This pain lives in our hearts everyday and it matures with every rising sun. We feed it with our emotions, nurse it with our tears but try to hide it under makeup and fancy cloths. Like a septic wound that gets covered with lint, we eventually soak up with blood.

What a miserable life we lead!!

Today, we choose not to blame anyone for our unhappiness. We choose to be WOMEN so that the men can be MEN. We choose to pursue that unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in your sight. You promised that you shall NOT bring your people to the point of birth and let them not be born.

If we can recall what our true identity is, then we won’t have an identity crisis. We won’t have to do anything to prove ourselves to anyone. We will then detach ourselves from all the fleeting pleasures of this world, and then we shall breathe again! We shall see the sun rise before our own eyes. Yes, we shall birth new life, love without boundaries, we shall heal.. and since we are the mothers of this nation, we shall heal the nation.

We claim a rebirth in all situations that affect our lives. We still have hope for women living in oppressive situations, those who are culturally bound by inhuman practices and those who have a longing in their hearts to bear offspring. We pray for the blessing of marriage and the protection over our family institutions.

Happy Women’s Day
